SCARFS is a webcomic created by Mike Kirby, following the story of a girl who renames herself Scarfs.

Scarfs is your completely average 14 year old girl. Only she’s recently found herself on the run from police after committing a crime that gives her life a turn for the worst. But just as it seems like things can’t go further downhill, she’s met face to face with a strange boy who tells her she was born to destroy the very people who’ve wronged her. She’ll have to make a choice, but with her feelings towards humanity split, can she put years of harassment and isolation behind herself before it’s too late? Or will her grudge get the better of her?

About the Creator(s)

Mike Kirby is an artist, animator, webcomic artist and amateur musician. He's a shirt designer at Outpostsupplyco, and an activist. He's typically known as the Monkey King, and SCARFS readers know, he is the monkey behind the typewriter.

This comic has had multiple drafts from as early as 2009 to date. Only two previous drafts are posted online, one which was published 2012 and has little to no accessible pages anymore, the other was published March 9th, 2015, and ran until the same day of the following year. It reached over 1200 pages in length, and only 1/4th into the story itself. Mike Kirby now refers to that as the TESTCOMIC, as he's now moving on to re-create the full comic in complete color and better quality panels and writing, coming this summer. A Patreon is currently helping save for funding for the new website and hosting, so the comic can be finished.

n 2015 gathered data from many of the readers, over 100 of which rated the Test Comic 8.95 out of 10. Similarly, Best-Webcomics rated the comic 3.95 out of 5, with around 100 votes total as well.[1]

A review of the webcomic done by Prettycoolwebcomics gave Scarfs a very promising outlook despite it's still early debut, stating "[SCARFSCOMIC is] A dark sci-fi tale with a vicious, conflicted, and beautifully written lead..."[2]
